Although the term “Bling” was originally associated with Hip-Hop culture, it has officially spread into mainstream and especially celebrity culture. The enormous diamond rings and gold and diamond jewelry worn in Hollywood by A-list celebrities certainly fall into the Bling category. Celebrities aren’t the only ones sporting serious Bling – they’re grooming their babies to sport baby Bling before they can speak.

Just a peek into the celebrity Bling of Jennifer Lopez… Since her favorite color is blue, J.Lo has acquired an impressive blue diamond collection of jewelry in various shades of blue. It seems that J.Lo’s passion for fancy colored diamonds, as the giant pink diamond engagement ring she received from then-boyfriend Ben Affleck was only the beginning of her love affair with colored Bling. Of course since Bennifer broke off their engagement, that spot on her finger has been taken by her husband, Marc Anthony’s 8.5 carat diamond ring, presented to her as an anniversary gift on their 1 year wedding anniversary.

Marc Anthony later gave his wife a stunning yellow diamond ring when their fraternal twins, Maximimilian David and Emme Maribel Muniz were born. As in the case of many celebrity babies, Max and Emme are well on the way to being spoiled rotten with baby Bling ranging from the chandelier in their bedroom to various other diamond-encrusted baby items.

Gwen Stefani is another celebrity that just can’t seem to get enough Bling! She’s passing the Bling down the line for some serious baby Bling. When she went strolling down the streets of London with her son Kingston in a gold baby stroller created by the brand Mamas and Papas (available only to a select few since there are only 10 of these strollers in the world), they were obviously turning heads. But when Gwen started feeding her second son, Zuma Nesta Rock, with a $4000 diamond encrusted spoon eyebrows and questions were raised. Although this incredibly expensive piece of silverware was given to her as a gift from her band mates, these days it seems Gwen Stefani seems to be pushing it – has celebrity Bling gone too far? When people are losing their homes left and right, isn’t it absurd for a baby to be eating with a spoon the cost of an adult’s full month’s salary? Gwen Stefani may not be able to help receiving expensive gifts, however, it would be nice to see the star auction them off and donate the money to charity.

Nowadays, when a celebrity walks down the red carpet inquiring minds want to know not only who designed their couture, they want to see the Bling used to accessorize their red carpet look. If a star dares to make a public appearance without any jewelry, people will talk, asking where’s the Bling? Celebrities are expected to rock the Bling, all gold and diamond jewelry ranging from rings to bracelets, necklaces, anklets and tiaras - but gold strollers and diamond encrusted spoons might be a bit much, even for their adoring public.
